A Look at Rut Manufacturing's Skid Steer Boom Mower

The Skid Steer Boom Mower, compatible with skid steers, compact track loaders, and multi-terrain loaders, is a game-changing attachment enhancing mowing efficiency for municipalities, road crews, and vast property owners. With mower head choices and 115-degree cutting angle flexibility, its unmatched versatility ensures nearly everything is within reach.

Our Side Boom Mower simplifies the task of clearing unwanted tree limbs, brush, and overgrowth at angles that can be difficult to reach otherwise. Doubling as a side cutter, it’s driven by a high-torque motor featuring a built-in relief valve and a flow rate of 12-24 GPM. The boom mower is also available in a piston motor with a flow rate of 25-40 GPM, which requires a case drain.

Enhance your equipment collection with our unique Boom Mower. Designed for bank, fence line, and right-of-way cutting, it’s also ideal for clearing pond edges and trail-making. Key features include:

  • Superior reach compared to standard brush cutters
  • Side cutter functionality
  • High-torque motor with integrated relief valve
  • ¾” blade carrier
  • Durable 5/8″ AR400 blades
  • 42″ cutting width
  • 4″ cutting capacity
  • No case drain required
  • Comes with a 2-button remote, charger, and two batteries.

The Skid Steer Boom Mower boasts a variable angle reach for added clearance. Employing our robust 5/8″ AR400 blades, it’s perfect for handling thick grass and brush mulching along ditches and fence lines. With different motor options, we can tailor the mower to any skid steer make and model.

How to Use the Skid Steer Boom Mower

1: Keep the Boom Mower to the Ground for an Even Cut

Because of its weight and fast cutting speed, the boom cutter is best kept close to the ground, giving your attachment constant support.

2: Take Safety Precautions

When your attachment is in use, it will fling mulch and hefty debris across the work site. Rather than risk unintentional harm or damage, make sure your path is accessible. To prevent injury, bystanders should be at least 300 feet away from the attachment.

3: Change Your Speed

The hydraulic gauge produces a lot of pressure while working, so you’ll need to regulate your speeds to optimize your output. Back off your speed as the pressure rises, and then return to work faster when it goes down again. This is an excellent method to maintain the equilibrium in your machine.

4: Clean Your Attachment Regularly

Removing large-duty limbs, trees, and branches presents a range of debris possibilities. Removing all unwanted waste between uses is critical to ensure your Annihilator can cut at its maximum potential.

5: Stop If You Experience Abnormal Vibrations or Sounds

Check for damage or blocked debris if you hear any strange rattling or strong vibrations while using it. If you’re unsure what’s going on, stop and clean out the disc mulcher for skid steers.
